“Research study for the production of food products for the fish industry from agricultural by-products” Agricultural Cooperative
The project focuses on the use of agricultural by-products from local agriculture. It focuses on marginal agricultural fields that could acquire a notable environmental importance if turned into freshwater wetlands devoted to the experimentation of integrated fish feeding products. The experiment took advantage of the biogenic characteristics of the freshwater environment for fish rearing activities. The species considered in the experiment are all economically rentable in the short term in the sectors of ornamental species, fishing, and repopulation of natural environments. The project also envisages a differentiated use of existing resources and the introduction of fish-rearing as a co-main activity in order to protect the potential of other sectors. The results obtained will allow the application of this model to other areas in the Southern part of the Province eof Ferrara as well as in other regions.
