Intervention 6.1, Enhancement and recovery of rural landscape

The manual for the new use and the enhancement of buildings and rural landscape in the Po Delta
The purpose of the manual is to provide the technical department of local authorities and operators working in this sector with the guidelines necessary to recover some typical rural buildings of the lowland of Ferrara and to carry out interventions for the safeguard of the ecosystems and vegetation of the rural environment. The manual was drawn up by a group of experts from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Ferrara and the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Bologna and with the cooperation of the Centre for Agriculture and the research centre Ferrara Ricerche. The group worked on different thematic sectors and was scientifically supervised by Prof. Giorgio Celli and Prof. Graziano Trippa. Research on the spot was carried out in the Municipalities covered by the Leader II area in the Province of Ferrara: Berra, Codigoro, Comacchio, Goro, Lagosanto, Mesola, Ostellato. The group worked on the basis of a direct approach to and contact with the landscape, carrying out a survey of the rural buildings existing in each Municipality and a division in courtyards, buildings and surrounding areas according to their type, with particular attention to environmental – friendly projects.
