Intervention 6.1, Enhancement and recovery of the rural landscape
MEDAGROU
– Mediterranean Green Routes Project
The project is the outcome of the cooperation with
LAG Altotevere Terra delle Genti, LAG ACTA – Valle dell’Agri
and the Spanish LAG Consorcio Sierra Oeste. Its general
aim is to promote tourism in the regions involved through
the use of modern technologies, as satellite systems,
the web and multimedia information sciences, together
with the traditional tools for visual communication,
as signposts and brochures. The project specifically
aims at the definition of a thematic itinerary in each
participating region, mainly riding routes, but also
routes for cycling and trekking.

These
routes should be created through a GPS system
and be translated into virtual maps managed
by a G.I.S system.

This
interactive map would put together geographical and
tourist information, summarising the offer of local
tourist operators in terms of accommodations and environmental
and cultural services. In the Delta area of the Province
of Ferrara the project aims at connecting the Northern
and the Southern Leader II areas, while providing the
opportunity to continue the itinerary in the areas of
the Province of Ravenna and the Veneto Region. The project
consists of three actions:
- studying, planning and outlining the itinerary
- the purchase of a GIS system to process information
and local data
- the organisation of a public event to present the
results of the project.
