Intervention 6.2, Pilot Projects for the enhancement of natural areas

Project “Reconstruction of a wooded area with access path” – Municipality of Berra
This intervention is targeted at the high-water area of Serravalle called “Porta del Delta” – the Gate to the Delta – because it is located near the vertex of the delta of the Great Po River. From the natural point of view this high-water bed is one of the few relicts of the river banks still to be found on the axis of the Po River, still hosting the original vegetation and wildlife that have disappeared or have been severely damaged in most of the area. The project envisages a series of interventions for the recovery of the bank wood through the re-plantation of some indigenous tree species, cleansing, as well as interventions aimed at opening the area to tourism, as the creation of a path with a catwalk and bird-watching points.
