Intervention 6.2, Pilot Projects for the enhancement of natural areas
Project:
Creation of a natural route on the Fattibello embankment
– Municipality of Comacchio
The Marshes of Comacchio are now the most outstanding
component of the Regional Park of the Po Delta and have
received international acknowledgement as natural site.
This project aims at enhancing the site and improving
the access to it through an equipped itinerary for environmental
and cultural tourism. This involves the creation of
a cycling and walking path running through the waterways
to connect the marshes to the area of the Museum and
the City of Comacchio.
This route would run along the embankment of Valle Fattibello,
characterised by the presence of some “bilancioni” –
enormous fishing nets held by capstans and located near
fishing huts built on the water. This path would also
be perfectly integrated in the surrounding environment
through the use of environmental-friendly materials.
