"From Carinthia to the Apennines in Romagna through the Po Delta”

The project started with a series of exchanges between operators in the fields of agriculture, tourism and artisanship of the participating regions (Italian operators participating in the Feast of the herbs in San Veit – Carinthia and organisation of workshops in Italy with the participation of Austrian entrepreneurs). The project then moved on to the creation and promotion of a joint tourist product of religious and artistic interest on the ancient Via dei Romei, the route that took the pilgrims from northern Europe to Rome through the Po Delta and the Apennines in Toscana and Romagna. After the definition of a historical and religious itinerary on the Via dei Romei the partners created a joint promotional tool “On the route of the pilgrims. Among valleys and lowlands from Carinthia to the Apennines in Romagna through the Po Delta”. (Italian and German version for the promotion of the product on both the Italian and the German market through a guide listing services, structures and events in the interested area and a road map of the itinerary). A joint logo has also been created to identify the itinerary. Besides the partners participated in the fair CBR that took place in Munich in February 2001. They also created a mailing list of tour operators specialised in historical, artistic and religious tourism.
