“Environmental education among European Parks”

The general objective of this cooperation project was the creation of a European network covering the parks and natural areas of the Po Delta, the Ebro Delta (Spain), the Evros Delta (Greece) and the Kerkini Lake (Greece). This network aims at improving cooperation on environmental education with a view to the improvement of structures for environmental tourism, creating the tools necessary to promote delta areas and wetland parks among young people and students, as well as developing models and methods of environmental education to be applied also in other park areas and promoting environmental education in the schools. A feasibility plan was first drawn up in cooperation with the cooperative Atlantide. It dealt mainly with the creation of environmental itineraries and teaching models in the park areas involved in the project, and the organisation of promotional activities at school level and of a training course aimed at improving professional skills in the field of environmental education Then the partners jointly produced a brochure entitled A Water Bridge between European Parks (published in Italian, Greek, English and Spanish) distributed to all participating regions and aiming at promoting environmental – friendly school tourism within European Parks.
