LAG DELTA 2000 (Po Delta - Italy) - LAG Nord Mayenne and LAG Sud Mayenne (Loire region - France)
The project aimed at the creation of cycling-tour offers to enhance water resources in the two regions involved, i.e. the Po River and the Mayenne River. These products should be launched on markets oriented towards cycling tourism, e.g. the Netherlands. Each partner has outlined a new cycling itinerary mainly along local waterways and created a tourists package for a week-long itinerary.
The partners have also created a joint promotional catalogue in German and Dutch describing joint packages for integrated holidays in the Po Delta and the Mayenne Region. The Dutch version of this catalogue was distributed together with the April 2001 issue of the cycling magazine "Od Pad" (10.000 copies for subscribers) and supported by an advertising page on the Po Delta in the June 2001 issue of the same magazine. The German version of the catalogues has been sent to a targeted list of 360 German tour operators and distributed to tourist information centres and tour operators of the Delta area.
