Intervention 5.1 - Guidance actions 

Female employee for B&B. A new form of tourism - Vocational training institute  
The course took place between March and June 1999 and saw the participation of 7 unemployed women who wanted to start an activity in alternative and environmental-friendly tourism. The course lasted 500 hours, devoted partly to group lessons and partly to the drawing up of a project to define the participants' entrepreneurial idea. Participants were also taken to visit accommodation facilities in the Province of Ferrara and in the Emilia-Romagna Region, in Trentino Alto Adige and in Carinthia (Austria), as well as to local enterprises, in order to gain first hand knowledge of the situation at local level. The course also included meetings with local political, economic and administrative representatives aimed at encouraging a modern tourist offer in the area of the Southern part of the Province of Ferrara. At the end of the course the participants obtained a 2° level professional qualification certificate.
