Villa
Giglioli, Improvement Project – Non profit Association
This project is the first step towards the total
refurbishment of a villa of the 18th century located
on the right embankment of the Po River. The old kitchens
of the villa have been turned into a small restaurant
and an old warehouse has to be transformed in an artisan’s
workshop for the creation of the typical Este engraved
ceramics. The courtyard has also been restored through
the creation of a pond for fishing and a small tower
for birdwatching. These intervention have turned a building
of prestige that had been abandoned for years into a
tourist offer of restaurant, craftsman’s activities
and sports – fishing and cycling. The restoration of
the villa, which should be turned into a Bed & Breakfast,
will need more time and the involvement of the Board
for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage.
