Intervention
2.3, Creation of exhibition areas. The pilot project.
Showcases.
This intervention
is strictly linked with intervention 2.2 and Action
3, which consists in a public tender for an “award”
for those tourist enterprises that have shown a strong
entrepreneurial spirit. Particular importance is attached
to environmental tourism in the Po Delta area. The award
consists in a promotional showcase for the exhibition
and sale of typical local artistic, cultural and gastronomic
products. The 20 showcases to be distributed to operators
of the Leader II area represent a way to import the
concept of network on the territory, which is promoted
by all Leader II initiatives. It is also an opportunity
to create a new form of cooperation among operators.
This pilot project is aimed at representing an area
with a strong tourist activity that tries to acquire
an integrated image. The showcases were built by a team
of local artisans using valuable materials. With this
intervention the LAG DELTA 2000 has tried to raise awareness
on the importance of a structured and unitary tourist
offer. Another 10 showcases have been located in public
places of tourist interest or places that are strategic
in the management of tourist flows (see intervention
2.4). In choosing the locations factors as geographical
position and proximity to the Po Delta Park and the
most popular itineraries in the leader II area have
been taken into account.
The showcases were distributed together with a series
of wine and food products and handicraft. They were
also accompanied by a “Charter for the good marketing
of the typical products of the Po Delta”, which contains
some indications on the right use and maintenance of
the showcase, the typical products to be exhibited in
the showcases and the guidelines for the conclusion
of agreements with the suppliers of these products,
as well as indications on sale prices, etc.
